App Store Optimization Basics

As all you know that App’s market is growing rapidly than almost any other market , and the Transformation of Website’s  to mobile app’s is happening too faster than even the most sanguine thought. Unfortunately, Due to low awareness and lack of content available on search engines Many of people don’t know about the different aspects of App’s and App stores. After 2 months of  research  on App Store optimization(ASO) and App’s marketing tools, I’am writing this article. And I ‘am happy to write this article for ASO Group. So all members should know the New things which updated Day by Day.

This article is a Class-level review on app marketing or App Store Optimization to aware you on New Tech and its all Features. Some people say that App store Optimization(ASO) is the Part of  Search Engine Optimization(SEO) but its different from SEO. SEO is the process to drive more and more traffic to your website and increase your ROI. And in this process SEO professional can do two important things first is On-Page (Changes in website Coding) and  off-page (Build backlinks) and all things are done according to Search Engines Algorithms. But In case of App’s we see there is no special search engine available for Searching. So we are depends on App Stores. And Unfortunately the App Stores are not based on any Algorithms. They just working on simple searching method like Shopping Stores etc. so the first question in our is “What is the Real App Store Optimization (ASO)” , “ How ASO works” “what is the possible things we can do for our App’s” . So We discuss these three things in next steps.

1.   What is App Store Optimization(ASO) / Existence of ASO

App Store Optimization(ASO) is a method to visible your App’s in people’ Search Results in different App stores Like Apple App Store , Google Play Store , Blackberry and Windows. Its related to Term which we called SEO but not quite different from this. ASO are performed in two different terms first is White Hat practices and second is Black Hat practices  From all others every object has a two aspects which we define as a right and wrong. So in case of SEO , ASO we should know these two techniques white hat is for right and black hat for wrong. White hat techniques takes time to effect results but it’s a genuine and authenticate and the other one is grew up in short period of time but its risky. So we will do only White hat techniques for our App and making him successful.

2. How ASO Work / Functionality of ASO

Types of ASO

As SEO , ASO is also divided in two parts.

1. 1.  On-Page (co-ordination of perfect keywords and Description)

1.       App NameYour App name always should Keyword Rich.Like if your app is about racing so you always choose this word in your display name.

2.  DescriptionYour App Description also should be keyword rich. And content should be summarized according to your App.

3.  VersionYour Update time changes. Like your App is available in two different version then how both versions are different from each other.

4.  KeywordsOne of the most important part of ASO. In this section you will use your best prominent words or keywords. There is limit words in this section so always use the best. Please keep in mind that don’t use keyword stuffing or repetition of keywords. Always use low comparative keywords because high competitive keywords take too much time to reflect the ranking.        5. App Screenshots- You can use Mock ups  and pictures of your App being used by actual customers are great too. Make sure your screenshots are High Quality.

The above two techniques are both doing in White Hat ASO) and Black Hat ASO.

According to Survey of a renowned brand “Nielsen”   63% of user discover the  App by Searching. Here is the survey company’s Chart –

So the data shows the reality of market. If you’re not doing paid promotions, media, and other activities to become a successful Branding. Just don’t worry ASO will helps you a lot and 63% of user directly connect with you and your App. After doing just few things, your App will become a successful on Different App Stores. So now we see “How Normal App is converting to a Successful App”.

We choose two App’s for our demo first is Temple Run (I don’t think that it’s Infrequent for all of you) and the second App is from same category Angry Gran Run. See the image below – 



As we see this image clearly shows the volume and similarity of keywords. So Abstract of the write-up is that ASO is the future. And this is the truth which we can't deny.
